Set it. Forget it.
It texts you.
StormSimple™ Signal is a passive stormwater sampler that catches the first flush, seals the bottle with a strong magnet, and sends you a text and email the moment it's full. No more wasted site visits. No more missed rain events.
The storm does the work. You get the text.
Drop the Signal into your outfall, catch basin or manhole. It fits the standard sampler mounting kit you already have — no tools, no power, no programming.
Runoff enters through the passive intake and fills the 1 L bottle — the representative grab sample your permit asks for.
A strong magnet snaps the bottle shut the instant it fills — sealing a true grab sample, secure until you collect it.
The sensor alerts you — email, text or both, your choice — the moment a sample is collected.
Your whole fleet, in your pocket.
See every sampler and its status at a glance, open any device for live battery, signal, location and who gets notified — and the moment a bottle seals, the alert lands as a text, an email or both.
Two parts. One drops in, one stays with you.
Everything you need, nothing you don't
Questions, answered
Who is Signal built for?expand_more
Industrial Stormwater General Permit holders, environmental consultants and municipal stormwater teams — anyone who has to catch a qualifying storm event and prove it.
Is the STORMSIMPLE™ Signal EPA compliant?expand_more
Yes. The Signal is a passive first-flush grab sampler designed to meet the grab sampling requirements of the EPA NPDES Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP) and most state industrial stormwater permits, including Washington's ISGP. It begins collecting the moment runoff starts and captures a full 1 L sample within the first 30 minutes of discharge, then seals to minimize headspace and volatile loss.
What's in the box?expand_more
Signal alert sensor, sampler head with magnetic seal, 1 L HDPE sample bottle, 2 × CR123 batteries (installed), hanger clip + zip ties, and a QR setup card that pairs the device to your portal.
How does it mount?expand_more
Signal drops into the industry-standard stormwater sampler mounting kit (Thermo Scientific 1160-1000) — if you already have housings in the field, it fits them. No tools, power or wiring — place it and walk away.
How long does the battery last?expand_more
6+ months of normal service on two CR123 batteries you can swap in the field. You'll get a low-battery text weeks before a change is due.
What about cell coverage?expand_more
The sensor connects over LTE Cat M1 with a built-in SIM that automatically joins the strongest local carrier — no SIM cards to manage, no carrier contracts, works out of the box. LTE-M also reaches below-grade structures better than standard LTE.
What does the subscription cover?expand_more
Alerts — you pick which ones and whether they arrive by email, text or both — plus the portal. Your first 6 months are included; after that it's $20/mo per sampler. No contract — and the sampler keeps sampling either way.
How do bottle swaps work?expand_more
The sampler and bottle are one disposable unit — the sampler screws onto the bottle, and the sensor just sits on top. Cap the full bottle for the lab and set the sensor on a fresh unit. Replacements are $90. Orders ship in 1–2 business days, with 30-day returns.
Do you offer bulk pricing?expand_more
Yes — volume pricing on 5+ units, and we take purchase orders. Email info@stormsimple.com for a quote within one business day.
